Compatibility
Macs and macOS compatibility
CrossDesk currently supports macOS 13+ on both Intel and Apple silicon Macs:
- For Apple silicon Macs, that usually means Macs introduced in
2020or later. - For Intel Macs, that usually means Macs introduced in
2017or later.
You can check your macOS version in System Settings > General > About.
Bluetooth device compatibility
CrossDesk officially supports the following Apple Bluetooth device families:
Magic Keyboardfamily (2021-present)Magic Mousefamily (2021-present)Magic Trackpadfamily (2021-present)
This includes current USB-C revisions as well as the earlier Magic-branded generations.
CrossDesk may also work with other Bluetooth devices, including AirPods and Beats, if they do not require a complex pairing flow.
Support for non-Magic devices is experimental during beta. Reliability may vary by device type, vendor, and pairing flow.
Touch ID compatibility
Apple Magic Keyboards with Touch ID work after a one-time setup. Pair the keyboard with both Macs, then activate Touch ID before your first transfer.
Other Bluetooth device support
Support for other Bluetooth devices depends on pairing complexity rather than device category.
Likely to work - Devices that do not require PIN entry, special software, or a multi-step pairing flow.
Likely not to work - Devices that require PIN entry, special software, or a more complex setup process.
